Coach Of The Month![]() 2012-2013 SeasonMarch 2013 - Bill Jones, Windsor Express![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Bill Jones of the Windsor Express has been named the Coach of the Month for March 2013. Although the Express were 15-18 and in danger of missing the playoffs, Jones guided his squad to a 6-0 regular season record in March, guiding the first-year expansion squad to a final 22-18 record and the #3 seed in the NBL postseason. February 2013 - Micheal Ray Richardson, London Lightning![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Micheal Ray Richardson of the London Lightning has been named the Coach of the Month for February 2013. Richardson has earned a 7-0 record in the month of February, and has guided the Lightning not only to a playoff spot, but to the number one seed in the playoffs, thus earning a first-round bye in the postseason. January 2013- Joe Salerno, Summerside Storm![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that head coach Joe Salerno of the Summerside Storm has been named the NBL Canada Coach of the Month for January 2013. Salerno, in his second season as head coach of the Storm, has guided the Prince Edward Island team to a 6-2 record in January, positioning the team with a three-game lead in the NBL’s Atlantic Division. The Storm, with a 17-11 record, has already surpassed the number of wins from last season (12-24), with two months left to play in the 2012-13 campaign. December 2012 - David Cooper, Saint John Mill Rats![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that David Cooper of the Saint John Mill Rats has been named the Coach of the Month for December 2012. Cooper guided the Mill Rats from a 3-6 record at the end of November to a 10-8 run, including a six game winning streak from December 13-28. The Mill Rats are currently atop the NBL's Atlantic Division standings. November 2012 - Micheal Ray Richardson, London Lightning![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Micheal Ray Richardson of the London Lightning has been named the Coach of the Month for November 2012. Richardson, who guided the Lightning to the 2011-12 NBL Canada Championship, has won all eight November games without a single loss. The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Robert Brickey, Head Coach of the Oshawa Power, has been named Coach of the Month for February 2012. From February 1 to the end of the season, Brickey, who joined the Power in mid-season, guided a previously moribund Oshawa Power team to a 6-3 record and within an eyelash of a playoff spot. The record also included several overtime victories for Durham's Team, including two back-to-back overtime wins over Halifax and Saint John. January 2012 -Micheal Ray Richardson, London Lightning![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that London Lightning head coach Micheal Ray Richardson has earned Coach of the Month honours for January 2012. This is the second time that Richardson has earned this honour; he was previously named Coach of the Month for November 2011. In the month of January, the London Lightning achieved an 8-2 record, and are on pace to not only receive a postseason berth, but to also receive home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. December 2011 - Josep 'Pep' Claros, Halifax Rainmen![]() The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Josep “Pep” Claros of the Halifax Rainmen has been named Coach of the Month for December 2011. In December, Claros guided his Rainmen to a 7-1 record, the best winning percentage of any NBL Canada team. The 7-1 record included a 7-game winning streak. The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Michael Ray Richardson, head coach of the London Lightning, has been named Coach of the Month for November 2011. Richardson, an NBA all-star during his playing days, and who has won three head coaching championships in other professional basketball leagues, has led the London Lightning to a 7-2 record. The Lightning's 92.4 points allowed is the stingiest in the NBL. |
